After losing my beloved cat, I wanted to get another one quickly. I missed not having some one there waiting for me with eager eyes when I get home, and someone who loved me no matter what (even when I forgot to clean her litter box). So all through out the week we searched and searched for Sunny. But while we were searching for Sunny we were also searching for new kitties. On Friday I was out of school, so we dropped by a cat shelter that we had found online. They weren't open but a lady let us in to look around. This entire house was just devoted to cats of all colors and ages. It was the coolest thing. The next day we came back to hopefully find the perfect kitten for us. We found her : ) The kitten that we fell in love with is named Angel. She is a white kitten that is really small for her age. Through a quick adoption process we managed to take her home that day.
She was really being watched by her guardian angel, because when she came to the shelter she had a huge bite around her neck, and was in pretty bad shape. They managed to save her through love and lots of good care.
I really thought that what this shelter was doing was incredible! They didn't keep any of the cats in cages, they just let them roam about the house. Some were confined to a specific room; however, they were truly being cared for in a humane way. The shelters name is Casa de los Gatos. I think that it literally means the house of the cats. They are in desperate need of volunteers and supplies. I couldn't do much as far as the supplies but I do have time, so I signed up to volunteer once or twice a month for them. I'm pretty excited to start next week : )
